Why do you want to be healthier?

It is extremely important to ask yourself this question and maybe on a regular basis. There should always be a TRUE purpose to every action. To understand why you want something you must really ask yourself why you want it. Let's explore some reasons.

  • Doctor - Your Dr. has recommended that you do something about your physical health whether it be because of blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis...etc. Not to discredit your Dr., because he probably knows what he is talking about and is right most likely, but that's not a good enough reason.

  • Cute Girls & Boys - You want to look good for all the cute boys or girls at the beach or someone that you are trying to impress at work or school. You are so consumed with what other people think about you that you believe that it's a good reason to get in shape.........WRONG!

  • Clothes - You don't want to spend money on new clothes, so you think that it's a good idea to get back in shape for financial reasons. Although it's good to be conscious about how much money that you need to spend, it's the WRONG reason to get in shape or be healthier. SORRY!

These are some of the more popular reasons why people want to get in shape and be healthier. They are all GREAT motivators, but NOT good reasons. It really has nothing to do with what your Dr. says and has everything to do with you. Most reasons are related to them worrying about what other people think about them.

Friends, let me be frank for a second.........WHO CARES what other people think about you. If these are reasons that you are trying to change in any area of your life.....YOU WILL FAIL!!!!

Until you figure why YOU want something, it's never going to happen or if you get it......you will likely lose it again. Every reason for doing something needs to come from your heart. Find out WHY YOU WANT IT and it will be 100 times easier to obtain and keep. It all starts from within you.........be TRUE TO YOURSELF and stop wasting your time and energy on what others might think of you!

So for now, I will leave you with that question. Meditate on it, pray about it, what ever you have to do to focus your attention on that question to get some TRUE reasons why....DO IT for yourself. See you next time for PART 2!
